what exactly do restrictors do?

sounds like a stupid question but think about it. My bike is 33brake, but i've managed to get the top speed suzuki said it will offer from stock unrestricted. This isn't over reading clocks beacuse i was riding with a friend on a 600 who said that was accurate beacuse he was following me and both our clocks were reading the same. I also can keep up with most people off the lights and still have a power band to play with...... what exactly is restricted here? just somthing i've been thinking about recently.

p.s whitetrash i work for m15 and have been here undercover for sometime waiting for you to slip up and reveal yourself. finally you let your guard down
i dont have a drinking problem.......if anything, i'm too good at it

A few possibilities spring to mind.

1) Either engineers don’t know what they are talking about and the power output of the engine has no effect on performance. (This would explain why moped drivers boast more than Busa riders.)
2) Your mate’s bike is restricted/Knackard.
3) Your bike performs much better than other identical bikes.
4) As part of his terrorist activities for his mate Osma, Whitetrash has been going round sabotaging bike to make them under perform. He’s done your mates bike but hasn’t got round to yours yet.

On a more serious note.

a) If fitted they do reduce performance. One well-known member of the site has just had them out and can notice the difference.
b) Even with 33BHP the same member had no trouble keeping up with the rest of us most of the time.
c) Despite what they think most new riders would be better of sticking to restricted bikes for a while. (and before you have a go I picked up a brand new CB900 2Hrs after passing my test, I would have been better off learning to ride properly first, but like most kids I thought I knew better, and no I did not bin it.)

I put £10 on mine being faster than yours.

And Whitetrash, I am only stating as I have said something on an internet forum before and that got me in a shed load of sh*t. Trust me.

You wont realise how much your bike is restricted till you take them out.

OR maybe yours never got fitted?
