£5 discount for members.
Sod that for a lark I'm outta pocket enough as it is as well, without paying 51 x £5 becuase peeps are members. The price was set at £50 so we cant go back on that now, that would be unfair
perhapes if you look closley you will see I have actually ADDED £5 to the price for non members.

So you would effectifully have non-members paying the current £5 membership on top of the price for the track day.

Price is set for the site members, you can easily put it on the FOC etc sites at £55

AND on the day sell them cheap membership -- special offer 25% off one day special etc etc......... They've already paid 50% so your quids in again.

hello im trying to resurrect this topic :D has a firm decision been made re; membership cost :?: as it still says £5 to join up, yet the poll suggests £10 per annum is the preferred amount. so is it the case that one donates what one would consider the appropiate amount   :?: :?:

i'd have no objection to paying a tenner but as jim says i dont want to subsidise people who want to post all the time but cant be arsed to pay - tbh people doing that are just takin the piss out of dave and the people who have paid.
if the subs go up then definitely limit the number of posts that someone makes as a non member - i'm pretty sure that people will know if they want to join or not by the time they reach 25 or at a push 50 posts

The site should be looking to recruit new members not upping its cost to existing members.

Not that I have any issue with £10. Any more than that mind is excessive for what is at its core just a web board and not a very busy one at that, you'll certainly retsrict the chances of the site growing.

As a model to grow the site upping the membership is not a good idea. If you just want to recoup your costs and are happy not to expand then its fine.

OK...I'm ready to be shot down in flames here, but what about Members who pay £10 min, become sponsor members, and only these members are allowd access to specified Site related offers, eg Clothing, stickers, and membership cards, (for discounts at suppliers) or whatever.
Non members can still use the board, Those who don't want to/cant help with the boards fees, don't have to, the site still remains free/ attractive to join, but if you want to get more involed, you can?

Had a re-think....so sponsor members pay, because................. they want to, and feel part of the board enough to want to help....No actual enticements, or reason other than the knowledge that you are playing an active part somewhere....

This wouldn't offend, exclude or discourage anyone from signing up...
