Anybody Know A Car Importer?

Looking for a recommendation. Does anybody know of a car importer?
My dad has a 2005 Kia that was bought in the UK. When he emigrated to Spain he reregistered it on Spanish plate. Roll forward to now and he has now sold up and come back to the UK but now post Brexit he has to import his own car, pay duties on it, and then get it registered back on UK V5 and plates.
He is looking for somebody he can pay to do the job for him as he is getting a bit overwhelmed trying to figure it out for himself and now only has about 2 months before his Spainish insurance expires.
Any suggestions.

Surely a 15 year old kia would probably cost more to import than itβs worth?
Set fire to it claim the insurance and get a car when back in UK.
Sorted!!

Have a word with Phil, he's just, imported a Bike from Germany and was saying that the forms are the same.
Also, like Bambam said, is it worth the money?

Over 10 years old,
It's not had,
Just make sure got Spanish docs, and nova saying vat has been paid.
Mot it on Spanish plates, insure on the chassis number then apply to dvla. Should get fresh uk plates and v5 back.
Most of the guys I know import back from Japan older vehicles (+10years) and is easy. Under that got to go down the sva/iva route and is a right pain.

I'm just hoping he has all the previous paperwork still as if he bought it back then would have paid vat on original purchase and hopefully doesn't get stung again

I'd say sell it to an ex pat over there. There's plenty of Brits that take their UK plated car over and baulk at the cost of transferring it to Spanish, and the Guardia Civil do like taking money from Brits that haven't done that within the time scale.
I took a UK plated van over there when we moved and sold it on. A friend changed his UK one to Spanish and just sold it there rather than go through the whole process again to get a devalued car back.
Secondhand vehs in Spain seem to fetch more money than the equivalent one in the UK. Seems anything with Spanish plates is at least a grand no matter what it is

thanks all for the suggestions. I actually had a similar thought that he could just take the number plates off register it as scrap and then sell it to somebody to do off roading with (as its a 4 wheel drive) Dad seems to think its a bot more complicated then that based on Spainsh law and to be honest i ahve no idea. Might try and Torque GT and see if they can offer some advise.

Does he still have the paperwork from when he first bought it?
As if it's still semi registered as exported it could be as easy as drive over, mot and reapply.

A car of that age and mileage won't be liable for VAT. it needs to be registered on NOVA within 14 days of entering the UK. That will make it legal fo it to be in the here. He will need original copies of Spanish registration docs. Menzies you'll be be able to handle the paperwork including NOVA as that's online, a bit of a pain but not too onerous so long as you have original Spanish docs. You will also need to get an MOT on the chassis number to register. Regardless who does the paperwork it'll take you a couple of months to get it road legal as you are at the mercy of a reduced capacity DVLA
Get it over here and complete NOVA and then follow the rules on registering.

One assumes that as it's currently legal in Spain, it can continue to be used on its Spanish plates until such time as a new V5c is issued with a new number plate?

Yes he does have all the paperwork. I reached out to Torque GT and they seemed interested waiting for a quote from them

Yes but he has been here a month and can only drive it in the UK for 3 months on the Spanish insurance before he is required to take it back to Spain. So need to crack on with it.
