Heard yesterday that Moto Corsa showroom has gone into liquidation but the workshop is still operating,
A friend of Annette's said her other half has just ordered a new Moto Guzzi and paid £500 deposit so drove up to see it's all closed up with security on forecourt

Oh bugger, that's a shame. Isn't that where your 1290Adv is going?

The Moto Corsa news is all over the Facebook Moto Guzzi group too. Seems there's a couple of people with deposits paid left hanging, also at least one owner who took his MG there for work and it's now behind locked doors. Shame to see another bike dealer go bust.

Wow I very nearly got my current bike from there did a test ride on an MV 800 Brutalei that might have been interesting on an HP deal.
They were an ok dealership not good news that they have gone under. Fingers crossed for the people involved that they get their money back. hope deposits were paid on credit cards.

If they have paid deposits using a credit card they should get their money back from the cc company.

Not great for lifetime warranty! Real shame.

If you are on HP or PCP the bike is owned by the finance company, not the dealer.. There will be a receiver appointed and someone will come in for the dealership franchises even if they don't want the premises. Unfortunately secured creditors like banks, manufacturers get their money before Jo public.

Just lifted this from the Moto Guzzi group on Facebook:
On the advice of a friend that works in the legal department of a big accountancy firm here in Cardiff I got myself invited to the Moto Corsa creditors meeting. I was glad I did.
I asked what would happen with my deposit for a V100 Mandello. The liquidator told me as I was an unsecured creditor I may or may not see my money. However both the Piaggio UK and the Italian MV Agusta representatives that were at the meeting were concerned about this as it meant lost sales and a hit to their PR confidence. To this end they both asked that the liquidator provide details of those who had deposits and that they would see what they could do. The Piaggio guy was going on holiday today for a fortnight so nothing will happen during this time.
I also asked about my Spada which is at Moto Corsa Classics for some engine work. I was informed that my Spada was safe and that Moto Corsa Classics would continue under another name. IF anyone else has a bike with Moto Corsa Classics they are safe.
The Corsa Cafe has been sold and is now open.
The Ashmore workshops are being bought out by the management there. The Ashmore company will be renamed. It wasnt clear if they would be a workshop only business.
What will happen with the Gillingham showrooms is not clear at the moment. They may or may not continue under another name.
That is about as much information as I can give. I dont want to say anymore as there is some legal stuff going on and I dont want to compromise that or myself.

Spoke to the workshop today, Dave the workshop manager has bought the workshop and now are trading as North Dorset motorcycle repairs, they are no longer a KTM franchise and can't now do service for warranty or warranty claims as KTM have taken the software ect.
This goes for the other franchises sad to see a bike shop go under

You'd have thought a deposit would be protected legally.. maybe it's time that we started using Escrow for deposits rather than handing it over and hoping we don't lose it.

Confirmed in MCN that it's opening up imminently but not from the Gillingham site. They had a service dept in Ashore about 10 miles away which they're using and hope to be dealers for MV, Aprilia and Moto Guzzi. Cafe to be run by an outside company but all in one place
