new Bike day......

Picked up a new toy on Saturday. Jury is still out as to whether it was a sensible idea or not ;))

As you may remember, last year I picked up a supermoto but never really gelled with it, restating in it sitting in the garage for 9 months without being used.

As luck would have it, I was trawling ebay last weekend and found someone looking to get rid of their toy as they wanted an smcR instead.

Needless to say, I mad some enquiries and we struck up a deal.

So as of November 1st there's every chance you'll see me tagging along on a rideout again trying to get to grips with road riding again..

When I took it out for a spin for about 30 mins I had no discomfort whereas the last test ride I'd had to stop by that time. SO fingers crossed.

Nice find sir! Having just done my 8th summer on one my only criticism of the Gen 2 SDR is that it's a bit over-sprung - depends on the surface of course; heading up the smooth A352 from Dorch to Sherborne the other week it was sublime, but on the poxy roads of the New Forest it's bouncier than I'd like. I've reduced the rear compression damping a bit (and upped the rebound to prevent wallowing) and it's helped a bit, but as a seasoned fettler of suspension I'm sure you can easily re-spring yours if you feel the need.
I have a catalogue of tweaks and improvements I've done over the years, happy to share.
Shame yours doesn't have enough orange, but it's a mighty fine machine otherwise. Enjoy...

Wow Simon that’s great news. I know you have not been able to get out on the road due to the discomfort so if you’re even able to do short rides this would be amazing and what a stunning bike. Looking forward to getting back out with you again on Devon’s best roads.
