i know this sounds silly if you have had a race type bike before but dose it come with time and are there any tips you can give me

you will get use to it with time. As for conering confidence as long as you have decent tyres on and you let them get warm just remember that until everything is scraping you can always lean over further. A good tip is to practise counter stearing, get up to about 40-50mph in a straight line and gently push the bars left and right you will notice that as you push the bars with your right hand the bike will lean to the right and vice versa. You can always read articles in the bike presas about riding tips which are good but in the end tho best bet is just to try and get as many miles as possible under your belt and come on some rides.
so it turns out.........sometime i do give a f*ck

Great news RG mate :)

Just take the bike to a stretch of road you know and start my getting use to the handling of the bike and braking of the bike.

before you know it you will be use to the bike, but be carefull of the slippery conditions mate

Best to wait till summer when the roads are warm and there's no so much salt and crap floating about...

Build ya confidence on long corners which ain't tight, then build it up till you get used to the bike and try different ones, it's a trust relationship you have to build up with a bike and it takes time, so long as the roads are good, the sun it up, and the tyres you got on are good quality, the only thing that will stop you will either be your confidence or the peg ends, you will find when your all the way down to the peg ends, your fully confident on that bike, but don't go doing it all the time once you can, always best to "keep some tricks up your sleeve" as I was once told by a wise old man :D

I have to do what your going though on every different sports bike I get on, they are all different... I'm mainly used to GSXR's, but then you go on something else like a Kazi, R1, Duke, Triumph and it's all so different and again as I was once told by a wise old man "the more bikes you try the better the rider you will become" which allthough at the time I thought he was talking aload of s.hit, I know see it makes sense, you appaericate how bikes are designed, what they are each for etc :)

It's why I'll always have something like my gsxr400 in the garage, even though my TL wastes most bikes on the road (Espically Dukes and Fireblades), for handling and pure riding enjoyment nothing comes close to that gixxer4 :D

thanks for all the tips i had loads of confidence on my old bike but as i said this is my first sport bike.
so i need to get used to the way i sit on the bike and then take it from there i guess.
i'll have to come on some ride outs now i have it :D :D

Can i just jump in here and say, even after 12 years of all year round riding i still on occassions have this silly moment where i consentrate too much on the road just in front of the front wheel. This in turn makes you brake way too much and just cock up the corner completly, where if you look as far round the corner as you can,you just float round it. Just one of those things.
