after gettin my r6 derestricted a while ago, installing new plugs new k&n air and oil filters bike still wont do 160mph...... i looked inside my carbs the other day and noticed that there was still a washer with an oval hole underneath the needle and round pivoty thing. Its only visible when u pull back the slider and open the throttle, can anyone tell me if these are another restriction or whether there supposed to be in there??? when it was de-restricted the guy in the garage took out 4 large washers about 6cmtall and 3cm wide but on my restriction certificate it says blade/cap restrictions..... has he maybe taken out the cap or blade and left the other in?? i hate this :x

Blade is the washers.

A mate derestricted a R6 not to long ago, I'll ask him where the cap was because he was asking about that also.

Is the bike bogging down at all?

no not at all, its runs so nicely up until the 135mph mark but then it just runs out of pull, can maybe get it to 137downhill but i wanna go faster!

I'm no expert but when my mate did a R6 and didnt remove the restrictions properly it bogged down after 8k rpm and actually ran worse than it did fully restricted.

When you're in top gear doing 135 what are the revs?
Does it have a aftermarket can?
Does it have a Dynojet kit? and has it been setup on a Dyno?

full race exhaust k@n filters nice new plugs,

5th gear about 11500rpm just wont redline

Strange why it wont go faster try stepping it into 6th after that and see you get anymore power at the top.

You sure that it isn't just coked up not having been stretching it's legs due to the restrictor kit? Before anything else try redlining it through the gears to see if you get a load of crap out of the end can. Next step check the plugs to see if the bike is running too weak (race pipe plus K&N minus dynojet :?: ).

Good luck!

So has it been re-jetted?

not rjetted yet, but everythings new and clean putting into 6th doesnt give any mor power at all, i think it justr needs dynkit plus tuuning maybe

Got the standard can? You could try it and see if it has more topend.

If not, get the sparkplug out and see what it looks like: http://www.dynamight.pwp.blueyonder.co. ... sparks.jpg

It could be running dangerously lean causing some engine damage.

doh for like the 10th time, there are new plugs in it. Now my oil light has started coming on at above 10K rpm but then goes off when u drop back down....................

I rekon it needs to be set up by someone who knows what they r doing tho i would just fuk it up,
Rode it pretty hard back to weymouth tonight and it seems to have great acceleration right up to 130 again, i think the k@n + new plugs have given it quite a gain.

It's one of those "If I can't see it myself m8 I can't give you advice" jobbies...

Aka "like the blind leading the blind"

best way to solve this m8 is take it to a place that specialises in Carbs...pref with their own rolling road setup/dyno to have a good look and sort it out for you :)

When was the last time you had the top end serviced and how many miles has the bike done in total?
