i need some help! my tv has suddenly decided that it doesnt want to turn on anymore. was working fine, turned it off, but it wont turn on again!
checked the fuse and it's fine, even tried it in a different plug socket! it's a three year old beko if that helps?! hmmm, i might think a bit longer the next time they ask if i want an 'extended warrantee'!!
would pop out and get a new one, but cash is a bit tight this month

Do what i do Take it to bits, have a little play around, Look for anything out the ordinary. Like burnt wires, Loose wires smell of burning, Wet circuit board from something being spilt on it. Then put it back together and most of the time it starts working again.
Failling that find a cheap back street electric shop who will normally fix it for pennies.
Or ask Speedy i'm sure he knows someone cheap.

DONT TAKE IT TO BITS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If you dont know what you are touching it could kill you no joke.
The charge left in the tube can kill you if it gets you the wrong way.
Best thing is to stay out of the back.

I have to agree with Bondy. If you don't know what you are doing your are better off not taking it apart. Even with the TV un[plugged you could still potentially have 1000's of volts present.
These days its unlikely that it will be cost effective to fix the tv but might be worth taking it to a repair shop.

the tv i got from asda about four years ago did the same thing last month. i just chucked it. its not worth mucking around with really. have a look for a second hand one on the cheap then you wont be to worried if it goes pop

Well bugger taking another one apart then
I do how ever touch the back of the tube with my tongue first to make sure there is no charge left so this proberly why i have been ok so far
