as some of u are aware, kim had a little 'incident' with a car and old biddy last week.
the mad old bint who did the damage has set a new standard in stupidity, SHE wrote down for kim, 2 false phone numbers (after crossing out the correct one), then when they were contacted, CONTESTED the incident then after all that, gave FALSE policy details to kims insurance company.

are they gonna get reported to the police for providing false details ? insurance company says NO cos they now have the right policy.

at least the bike is being collected and taken away to be fixed up.

Speak to the police, see what they say - it's an offence to fail to give correct details after an incident isn't it ?

If she is that "confused" that she can't give her correct phone number, and then after chacking still fails to give correct insurqance details etc., one must surely question her competence to drive? Can the DVLA do anything?

thats the thing moose, she did give her correct number, then crossed it out and gave 2 false ones. i have the bit of paper here.
i tried the crossed out number and her hubby picked up, gave me a load of abuse and hung up. called the insurance, gave them the number and they called him, thats when he gave false insurance company details.

I wouldnt mind if you hired me to take her out for about £700. Then once we have her credit cards we can take the money out and all will be well. But I want a free silenced gun if you do.

The Law clearly states that the driver's details need to be exchanged on the roadside, before any leave is made - therefore whilst the insurance company won't do anything as they now have the correct details, who cares? If they had the incorrect details all they'd do is try to obtain the correct ones and stop there, but the fact remains that the fogey broke the law, so when the insurance company refuse to, who says the police won't? She broke the law

If that's the case I really would be having a word with their local Old Bill and making a complaint - for giving incorrect numbers, abusive behaviour, and false insurance details - lay it on thick, make a meal of how distressed Kim was, and how unhelpfull and rude the other party was, and see what they say?

u must go to the police to report the incident. then with the crime ref number, the insurance company are obliged to persist the old bat

personally i reckon in any incident like this your best bet is to be "injured" - for one the police have to attend then, and for another where theres blame.... ;)

i can tell you now that there is no point going to the police. Unless someone has been injured the police have no interest in accidents.

I personally would let it lie and move on..

However, if their phone number was made public... who knows what kind of abuse they may suffer from all those cranks out there (public phone box, 141 prefix, don't stay on the line for more than 29 seconds & use a different phone each time)....
