Try going into the options menu (on msn etc) and looking at the designated file it saves to as sometimes it saves to a default file you wouldn't expect or a secret file no one thought you'd find ;)

Usually all files through msn go into a folder called My Received which you should be able to find in My Documents.

That does sound strange.

Try looking in

/Windows/Temp

(if you are using Windows XP its -Start--My Computer--Local Disk--Windows--Temp)

(if your using Windows 95/98/ME/2000 its -MyComputer--"C:/"--Windows--Temp-)

When you download pretty much anything with the windows downloader it will download it there then when its fully downloaded it will copy the data to where you asked it to go.

If its not there, its [Censored].you might want to try downloading another web browser (to use instead of internet explorer)
"Firefox" and "Opera web browser" are good free ones and can be found on http://www.google.co.uk

You can choose to run the installer of firefox instead of downloading.

Could possibly be a anti-virus problem.

Download a file and rename it to 'find_me' >> then when it has downloaded, search your hide drive for files or folders called find_me. If it is hiding the files then you should find it, may also be with opening up a windows explorer tab, click on view and select 'Show hidden files and folders' if what you are looking for appears, then you can right click, go to properties and uncheck the hidden box.

Hope this helps
