Low Mount or High Mount?

My SP1 came with Jardine High Mount cans, incase you dont know, these are very good cans, Jardine are the people who made cans for Factory Hondas in AMA so alot of R&D have gone into them etc but I've always loved the way the low mount looks on the SP1/2. So today I went about fitted the standard exhausts back :)

One reason was because the Jardines need a real good clean and two was because I wanted to see what the standard low mounts looks like (and what the standard cans sounded like too :) )

So here are the pics of low vs high. Let me know what you think. Naturally I wouldnt be keeping the standard exhaust, I'd have some form of aftermarket low mount.

I'm gonna be really helpfull and say that both ways look trick. If you don't take anyone on the back I think I'd stick with the high cans if I were you just so that I didn't have to pay out for new ones.

Low mount 8) ..... I hate the "sharp" angles of the high mount systems .... especially the aftermarket ones you see on I4's where they go under the seat

You want a nice pair of Akrapovic or Yosh cans on there ..... or why not jut get a pair of link pipes made so you can continue to use the Jardines :? There are several places that do it (unfortunately not particularly local  ) for around £80 - 100 /pr 8)

Gav i personally prefere the high mount as i feel these flow with the bike more.

Run paraelle with the rear seat cowl. I know its a pain not having rear footrests but she does have her own bike.

Trust me, it's no pain at all not having any rear pegs :) I dont ever intend on taking bloody pillions ever again! If I do go low mount then some snazzle exhaust hangers will be next on the list.

I was looking at speaking to Jardine and see how much their link pipes were or atleast measuring the inlet of the can and hoping for the magic 52mm.

whichever one the top pic is, the other pic just looks like an after thoguht

in the top pic the can is at the right angle, flows along the tail unit, bottom half of the link pipe running at the same angle, it all just flows and works, also angled with the graphics etc etc

the bottom pic just looks like someone has bought a can off ebay and bodged it on, doesnt flow with any of the lines

The low mount doesn't flow with the bike (or is it just me)

I would choose the high mount for the same reason.

8) Standard's always looked odd

high mount as it follows the lines of the seat unit or go for a single can full system, my mate had a arrow and it sounded the mutts nutts

i disagree the highmount has too much pipe, its forcing the pipe to go there for looks, it looks too obvious. The low mount goes with the lines of the bike, even though it dosn't run parrell like the high mount, for some reason its less distracting and means the whole bike flows more, my 2p :)
