Heard today that neil hodgson has confirmed he's retired from racing. I'm sure all the usual sites will have more info later in the day

I saw Neil Hodgson at the big George White birthday bash in Swindon on Saturday and had a quick chat with him - he explained why he's called it a day; a shoulder that's fine for just about anything except riding a bike at racing speeds. He was fairly philosophical about it and joked that he may end up alongside Whitham and Haydon on Eurosport - it's a shame that this season was a non-event for him, I was hoping that he'd be able to add some quality and experience to a relatively lightweight BSB field. Never mind, all the best for the future chap...
