'Bargain' Leathers

I have been having a look around at some leathers...NO Billi :ymdevil: , sit, stay, good boy.

There are some purported Dainese, Laguna Seca and Alpinestars sets at rediculously cheap prices. Are these imitation rip offs or really proper-job deals ??

P.S. Happy new whatsit to all.

Old stock? nicked? Slight seconds? If they're from a reputable supplier, no reason why they shouldn't be ok. If they're from some random bloke in a market/pub/alleyway, proceed with caution.

Check the tabs, look at the stitching, is the armour removable?like matt said, is the source reliable?

I saw a new set of alpinestars leathers in " br*@ge" (yes I know it's like swearing)
They were £400 brand new for a one sie.
Seems a good price for a branded suit so they are out there for sensible money.
I personally would stick to known brands and suppliers.

Personally, I wouldn't feel confident as it's advertised as
"Custom made" a custom made suit it more £1000.

I would rather spend the extra and be sure,

If you Google alpinestars atem suit it's £1000,
So getting one for less than 25% is serious alarm bells!! 8-}

If it looks too good to be true....
Thanks for the replies. Will have a mooch around locally. Probably have to shelve it until the pools' cheque arrives.

i bought a second hand set and got lwr gerry to adjust them. they needed to be lengthened and a couple of panels fitted, they fit a lot better than an off the peg set do now.

it's a good option, i got fed up waiting for the pools cheque so settled for the musicmagpie one.

I never saw that fake britain episode so just youtubed it and watched it.
Very eye opening. Just seems not everything is such a bargain as it seems,

as for leather adjusting, it seems a sensible option as you can get a well made suit at off the peg price,
I bought £160 2nd hand alpinestars one piece which has now been crashed in at 100mph,
Jerry repaired the damage and trust them more now as know they stood the first test!!
