Last night I attached my new fender extender to my front mudguard using Unibond Silicone sealant. I've read on a number of bike forums that this should be sufficient. However I'm not convinced and think I need to put a few short screws in just to make sure, but I'm not sure I want to drill the mudguard.

Any advice to either method?

I wouldn't have used a silicone based sealer as a bond,
A polyurethane mastic/bond would have been much better to attach it.

Everything else I can think of would mark the mudguard in one way or another unfortunately but if you took your time with nice coloured self tappers then they would be hardly noticeable

I attached a powerbronze front extender with black finished 1/8" x 10mm ali pop rivets. They supplied self tappers, but didn't wan't the pan head screw finish. Find a mate with a handheld rivet gun. A bead if sikaflex won't hurt either. Make sure it is secure, phenominal force at speed will try to rip it off.

Cool thanks for your advice. I'll see if I have any rivets in the garage.

By the way, my mudguard is black. Hence suggestion for black rivets. What bike? Your application may differ.

If you have a painted wing, http://www.probolt" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; do a vast range of coloured and stainless bling fasteners such as anodised bolts, dome, csk, cap screw style heads. I'd personally be looking at M4 or M5 size x 12mm or whatever length you need to include washers, wing, extender and nut. 3m doublesided tape wont last long on it's own. Just some ideas while it's wet outside! .

Thanks for your help everyone. I drilled the holes yesterday and put the little plastic push fit "rivets" in. One on each side and two on the top. As they are black I won't really notice them.
