Dear new/old members, young and not so dead people of South West.

This is not organized rideout. I am fancy Chips and tea \:D/ I am going there regardless so if any of you fancy coming with me then carry on reading. Some details...

Where ?

Meeting point: M5 Sandygate Motorway EX2 7HF, 16th February, 10am. Leaving service between 10:30/11am.

Destination: The Mermaid Inn, Alexandra Road, Porth, Newquay, Cornwall, TR7 3NB.

I have no riding nor leading skills

However If you wish to come with me... No speeding in 30-50mph zones! Motorways are up to 70mph with only little play when roads are clear and inviting to do so, no silly overtaking no wheelies [only because I don't know how to]. However if You would like to perform such acrobatics you are more than welcome to do so :D

I might be in a position to meet you in Newquay, will depend on if I'm working that day or not. Will give a heads up closer to the time.

Put me down as a whether dependant maybe pls G-g:
e.g. Whether it's not all trunk roads - there's plenty of nice bike-friendly ways to get to Newquay without squaring yer tyres on boring dual carraigeways.
Whether my bike's electric gremlins are fixed in time
Whether the weather's reasonable.
And whether I think my crumbly old self can keep up!

Just an idea this: Why not consider a 10.00 am meet where planned, leave for 10.30ish and have a proper biker's breakfast at Woodleighs Coach House - it's just off the A30 at Cheriton Bishop. But if you'd rather get to the cafe with a big grin on your face, there's some great B roads instead!

Sounds great, You see I don't know any bike roads/good pubs or meeting points in South West [because it will be my first bike trip in South West (I don't live here)] Why Newquay...sounded nice but I have no clue where that is and how to get there to be honest :-$ But we will be fine :-j

I already had a word with weather and I booked beautiful dry and sunny 16th February so that's sorted :-bd

If its not clashing with a solicitor's appointment ( need to check the date with my wife ) then I can be in Newquay for whatever time you think you'll be arriving. I'd probably meet you further up the road though, Bodmin way or something? Once I know if I'm free I'll post up some good meeting points and you can give me a rough estimate, but you can always text me when you are near the border/ first coffee stop. I'd start looking at the map G Girl and give yourself a rough idea of a route, that way we can all suggest if there's a prettier, twistier etc. alternative, or just agree with your route but be able to estimate times it should take from A to B to C etc.

Also what's your plan with going and coming back? Are you heading to Newquay, then going back to Exeter or do you have other things to do down here and its an overnight stop point? If you're just planning an all day'er I'd think about heading back via South coast roads, Plymouth side etc. as it will give you a different route all day rather than straight down, coffee, straight back. Check your sunset times though as Feb can get pretty cold once the Sun goes down, unless you've booked unseasonable warm evening weather too ;) .

Sorry You can't go out playing  I knew that midweek will be a no go for most people but thought there will be few retired people on here that have not much else going on in midweek but time ;)

Bodmin Jail  Yes we can meet up in Bodmin 8)

Yes if you could do that, then we can arrange something. Most likely I will be out all week Monday-Friday so it doesn't have to be Tuesday but it will be my first time :ymblushing: I looked at the map and indeed looks pretty and inviting :ymdaydream: But how to get to these roads it's a different matter :-s

My plan is to be back home (Exeter) same day and that's about it. When I am on my own I don't really stop much only for petrol or to take a picture and to let know my boyfriend that I am still alive  But if it will be few of us then it will be nice to have a nice country bimble with few stops for chat etc instead of nailing there and back.

Yes, of course. I have booked that as well, it will be amazing 12+ evening B-) [You're welcome ;;) ]

I'm a probable-maybe at the moment - but only as far as Launceston, cos I'm going for a back-road bimble looping back to Exeketer after that - and not on M or A roads more than essential - and whether dependant as per' my post above. I'm reckoning on a coffee/sarnie stop at Woodleighs @ Cheriton Bishop and am happy to lead from Zeketer to Launceston via Woodleighs if needed.
