Hi all,
Just sussing out the local bike scene. Live in Truro and just returning to bikes after a short gap (30 years). Waiting for Bonnie to be MOT'd and delivered and will then be taking first few rides. So if you get held up by an old fella going around the roundabouts like they are threepenny bits, that probably me!. Well hi all = and if anyone knows where the local bike meets are then please let me know.

You've got Mac's D's at Hayle on a Tuesday eve, Helton has a meet on Thursday's I think, Royal British Legion at Victoria on Thursday too, very busy and a great setup.

Ducati owners meet up in Perran and Zelah but all sorts show I believe.

Thanks billinom8s and MaxDec10. Will certainly give the Victoria one a go and most likely Hayle too. The Bonnie may be a bit out of place with the Duke owners though, but may give it a go at Perran and Zelah

Hi Jogler, Portreath car park is also a popular place for bikers to hang out, especially weekends.

I've met up with a couple of 'returning bikers' and we head to Hayle, when we are next going down I can send you a PM if you are interested in joining us. Its very easy paced so no worries about thrupenny bitting roundabouts .

Hayle tends to be a bit more sporty than Victoria (which is a bit too custom for my taste sometimes!). Both have all sorts though. Victoria has much more space and choice of food etc. and free live music of varying quality. The Victoria one is £1 to attend but that all goes to the British Legion. They also do rideouts once a month on Sundays but they ask you join the Legion if you plan to go more than once or twice. A good bunch when I went with them last year but somehow I keep missing them this year.

The road to Hayle are more interesting and varied!

Portreath on a sunny Sunday is a very informal meeting point for people about to ride elsewhere or coming back from elsewhere if you don't mind walking up to total strangers for a chat. The smallest by far and you have to fight for space with tourists or buses.

I've been seeing a Bonny recently somewhere around Truro during my daily commute to St Austell so you are not alone there.

If your confidence is up to it after a few weeks the run to the sun thread is worth monitoring. I am only back fairly recently myself (18 months after 20 years) so I haven't made it yet. Partly because it's a bad time of year for me to find time and energy but maybe I will next month.
