I left my clutch cable end at Matchams :-)

Post by green_hodgeheg »

Bowling along very nicely in the foresty bit between A31 and Matchams (back of Bournemouth airport) and looking forward to breakfast at Snowtrax when my clutch lever went woefully floppy. Oh dear oh dear. Got recovered home and now must fix it by Wednesday or it's another sad car trip to the Blast (if not rained off) :80:

Hope everyone had a good weekend on two wheels and managed to avoid the monsoon....

Dear oh dear, we don't like clutch levers of the woefully floppy kind, not good at any age :( .
An easy fix if it's just a cable, a bit more involved if it's hydraulic; good luck anyway.
Question, where and what is Snowtrax? I'm always up for increasing my list of biker friendly coffee stops :)

Snowtrax does nice breakfasts and also other food during the day in their "Alpine Bistro".
Am hoping for bike to be fixed in time for Bikers Blast as new cable coming from Cradley tomorrow. Am doing it myself of course, thankfully not hydraulic...

the end came off my clutch cable on my Z650 a couple of years ago near Torrington, I managed to ride on to the garage to get fuel as i was on reserve and not enough to get home , pushed it out of garage and down hill bump started it , and started to plot a route home that only took in left turns at junctions but that was not working, so on right turns i either had to time the turn right or pass the junction and ride around until i could turn and come back and turn left , got home without using the clutch though , and the garden gate is till in one piece

Weather is looking dry for Henstridge. I think I'll have a wander over this time is there's no more snow storms.

I may be the one with the car since Cradley and Parcelforce lost my cable !!!!! It went out but they have no record of it today and are sending another but I am not sure of fitting it in time after work as have not had anything to do with cables or indeed Zs in pieces for a while.
Am well hacked off last time I went by car I did not have anyone to talk to as no bike to loiter by and I don't know anyone here. Oh poohs.

Bad luck. That always happens when you're wanting something in a hurry. Unless its raining I'm going to Henstridge tomorrow. Expect I'll be wearing a SWB hoodie. Say Hi if you're bored.
Personally I always park up near the rope then wander off to look at other people's bikes. Always end up talking to someone. No one will no whether you've come on your bike or not.

Oh poohs just got back from work to find message from Cradley at 11.20 (!) to say they are shipping cable today despite having told me last night it would be with me today ! Not using them again. No time to find one locally b4 tonight and no crimping kit so will be in car. I will look out for you and I will be the blonde stomping about muttering darkly.
I will get the bike out in public view by hook or by crook and thank you all for your support !!!! :D
