Looking at going over to the Isle of Man, what are peoples experiences with ferry crossings with regards to securing their bikes and suffering any damage ?
Thanks.

Can't speak for Steam Racket, as never used them, but in 30+ years of using cross channel ferries I've never had a problem. Always check how it's been secured, or secure it yourself. Ensure plenty padding between bike and solid objects if needed.

It sounds like the OP hasn’t arranged the trip yet - if possible book the SeaCat from Liverpool rather than the ferry from Heysham - it’s closer (considerably), quicker and the sailing times are far more civilised...

Yeah nothing arranged yet. Who would be responsible for securing your bike, yourself or the staff ?

I think the staff do it. Steam Packet are pretty slick operation for lashing down bikes, they must deal with a good thousand bikes a day during the tt.

Liverpool Douglas is the usual one,
Done with steam packet in 2013,
Seemed quite slick, but can be mental for the tt weeks.
