I bet he likes formula 1.

It pisses me off when old people kick off about younger people doing exactly what they did years ago. Live with it you old twat. Stop being a NIMBY and get a life.

My 690 screwed as well. Never
Mind , more cheap income for the police/ government. Meanwhile the drug dealers, burglars, car jackers and moped gangs will carry on as normal due to police cuts. Welcome to 2019.

Bike can't be failed for being noisy. It's examiners discretion otherwise.

How will they definitively prove it is one specific vehicle creating the noise? Say there are half a dozen bikes together in a close group? Or a lorry/bus/coach adjacent? What about noises from adjacent activity (say construction sites) or airplanes/helicopters?

Someone sat in a van 500 yards from the road with the Radio on will decide by dropping a pencil on the group photo.

It can probably be done, several mics to build a 3d sound picture and some fancy algorithm to separate out the sound sources. This might be financially possible for a few units but not full scale rollout, well not initially unless the fine revenue is feed back into new installations, then we'd be screwed.

Or would we... It could work just like speed camera fixed installations do now.
Signs would let you know you are about to pass through a noise monitored zone, so if you go through there hot on the throttle the you get a dvla love letter.
