have just been on the ferry website, some sailings are already full !!! I'm waiting for hubby's permission to go (he's in afghanistan at the moment and I need to know if he'll be able to take a few days off to look after our kids ). If I'm going I'll leave on the Thursday (19th)(only sailing available from Portsmouth 15.15 arriving at 22.00 which means booking a hotel room) and coming back on the Sunday night crossing (23.30).

Sure will be !

We go out on the Tuesday night as we have free practice on the Wednesday, then it's just about non stop till Sunday night. Then we Travel home on the Monday.

We go out on the Norlfolk line ferry from Dover to Dunquerk (not sure of spelling !)

For anyone thats not been before WHY not it's a fantastic atmosphere and a great piss up as well !

why are you going all the way to Dover ? then it's a long ride from Dunkerque to Le Mans (though I think it's motorway all the way now). I know LD lines are so much cheaper than Brittany ferries but then you use more petrol (just been nosy not criticizing !) I'm sure you'll have a fantastic time once there !!!

They get special rates from the operator on that route 8)

When I was looking last night night, there are still a few sailings available on friday, with Brittany, LD, and Condor from Portsmouth or Poole and spaces on the Sunday night or Monday back. Prices in the £100 - £140 range, bike and rider :D

Reason being I finnish work late Tuesday afternoon get home wash and change then pick up people carrier and other team members drive to dover and catch a late ferry 10 pm or so. Then it a quick crossing and Drive through the night !

I can be at Le Mans then nice and early.

Portsmouth etc the saling times are to long ! e.g arrive in France around 7 am !

From Dover I can be at Le mans at 8 am Wednesday !!!
