And then we get upset when "they" want to limit bikes

If you 're going to do stuff like that keep it quiet. It draws unwanted media attention which forces knee-jerk reactions from the gubbermint to keep the Daily Mail readers happy.

Good point though, why bring attention to the fact that you're breaking the law, only gonna make them even more anti-bike...

Blimey wrote:Saying that about not being able to identifiy a rider. They managed to prosercute a rider a couple years back who rode around with no number plate, gettin Gatzode on numerous occasions and identified him from the photos by his riding gear, helmet, bike and caught him whilst riding with same gear, helmet and bike.

Was enough apparently.
hmmm, all that says is that the rider in the pics was wearing the same clothes/gear, doesn't really positively ID him though.
As I've never had the misfortune of getting a ticket from a gatso I don't know if the pic's/video are in colour or black & white. If they're in black & white it would be virtually impossible to show what the rider was wearing or the colour of the bike, making the conviction even more shaky.
It wouldn't surprise me if it was a magistrate who convicted him, but if he were to appeal with a proper judge it would probably get thrown out as not proven.
A mate was telling me the other day of something similar when it got to court & the bloke said something along the lines of "yes the bike is similar to mine, but how do you know it's me?" The judge apparently agreed & he walked out with his licence intact.

I suppose in this case with such high speeds involved it's worth using as an argument. But for the average few mph over, unless you've got a lot of time & money available to fight it, you might as well take the fine & points.

As has already been said, he's a prat for broadcasting his antics

if you and all your mates bought the same lids and leathers, inless you get caught at the scene, no one would ever have to pay a fine again.

downside, really would look like powerangers

That's the problem and the powers that be know it. It's better to pay up and get the points cos the court cost would cost more if you loose. However if everyone who got a speeding ticket went to court (as is our right) the courts would be backed up for 20 years :D 8)
