Apologise if you did it. Your scum if you dont!

Post by tomr6 »

I've just heard a rumour from 2 different people that not only have some admin on here been able to read pm's but they read them and openly discussed them.

I know who you are and have done for some time but it really pees me off cos I didnt think you would do that.

As far as I am concerned you are scum. At least have the bottle to make a public apology.

If I dont get an apology within the next week then I will make it my personal goal to ensure as many people know about this crap as I can. And I know a lot of bikers.

I thought the peeps I'm thinking of were friends but maybe not. Lets see if this thread gets locked or not!

Looks like this one is my fault

I have repeated a conversation to someone about this and what i have recently heard. Which i pray doesn't become public.

But i guess i need to say something now as peeps involved are going to know its me who has said something and me being involved in the matter i guess i did have my reasons to mention it, but they did know anyway at the time. That was the impression i was given.

Also did hear like i said this was stopped very quickly

Hopefully this can be resolved quickly and very very very quietly please :?

The ins and outs of this don't need to be made public right.

Nowt to do with you. I heard it from Plymouth peeps.

It needs to be public and have a public apology so maybe we can start to trust some people on here again.

If you want to make a contribution to this thread then I suggest you stop beating about the bush and say what you mean.

In fairness Phil, your name was never mentioned to me.

I will admit that there was a time last year when we could read PM's. This was installed for about a month I think (Someone back me up if I am wrong) but was taken off for a reason that I will not disclose.

Thought that the PM function may turn out to have a good use, too be honest I never thought that PM's were used so much.

I can guarantee that there is no way that PM's can be read anymore. (They use a MD5 hash encoded with a Session timestamp for security).

I apologise if anyone thinks that this was used as a spying effort, but it wasn't.

P.S. I am happy for this thread to remain open.

I was aware at one point that it was possible but I was still striggling my way around the admin Pannel.

I was notified by Dave along time ago that it was there but had been taken away.

You told me to my face last year that no one could read pm's. Now your saying they could. Which one is the truth? Whenever I heard the rumours that someone had been reading my pms and talking about them in public I asked you directly and you said it couldnt happen.

You dont have to give specifics but you could outline the reason. Dont have to name names. Be good to know why it was taken off.

Tom who is stirring this time ?

If I were Dave I would pull the plug on this forum as there is never a month that goes by with out someone complaining.

TBH it just aint worth it.

The pm function was removed after a conversation between some members was a bit too private and that was not what the PM function was intended for.

In all fairness the PM function did make me aware what some members really thought of me, even though they could not say it to me in person. (I am a big boy now and can take it.)

Hope this clears it up for you tom.

P.S. Just added you to my MSN, never knew you had one

Why is it everytime I come on this site there is some kind of sniping or problem and the thought of someone reading your PM's is a bit much.

I have to say it does put a person off this forum, I know I'm not an avid member or anything, but it does kinda put you off when there is always a bad vibe amongst people.

No one is stirring Age. I had people come out with comments to me last year that could only have been picked up on a pm and I asked Dave directly could admin have read it. I trusted Dave and he said no so I believed him.

Then I hear other comments this week and I put the post up. You may have noticed I'm not one to hide away from asking dificult questions.

Then Blimey puts his post up. No idea what he is on about but he knows something. Up to him whether he wants to bring it out or keep it quiet. I dont really care tbh.

Now Dave has admitted that it may have been possible for admin to have read my posts. Fair play to him for admitting it. Now I will personally speak to the peeps whos names have been mentioned to me when I next see them. End of story from me unless I get a public apology. I can read people like books and know when someone is lying. Up to them if they wanna take the chance of me giving them crap.

As for slagging of Dave in posts. Whoever done that is a spineless git.

I'm a less frequent member here too and i couldn't agree with you more if i tried. There always appears to be an "us" and "them" situation on this site. I'm a member of a few other bike forums and the general "feel" with members and admin is absolutely great. It just seems to me there are too many negative bitchy issues on here which i noticed from the first few times i visited along with people moaning (me being 1 of them) about SWB stickers, membership cards etc and it doesn't seem to have changed. Either way i still paid up last year to support SWB despite not being a regular but i never recieved those damn stickers etc despite contacting admin only to be blanked. Now i realise i have not coughed up this year but my reasons have been outlined above and i may still pay up just to support the site but to be honest with you this is the only site which i actually have to contemplate whether or not to pay up (actually thats a lie as Bikers Oracle are an odd lot when it comes to some of the admin people too !!.) Sounds lame and sad i know but the feeling i get on here is the reason i don't post very much or attend meets and ride outs. FWIW i agree with Tomr6. I'm off to interrogate the admin on me udder "places of worship" now !!

This is news to me, and I to am a loud twat, who ain't scared to say what I think or feel, so I would hope if anyone had a problem with me then they will say something and not go whimpering to other people.

The them and us thing only came from people who wont say what they think.
