2008? if anyone fancies it i'm planning to get over to Arnhem via Calias for the veterens' weekend 21/22 Sep 07. Remembering Operation MARKET GARDEN Sep 1944. Not many vets left and getting fewer each year but its a cracking weekend, super atmosphere and great to see some living history.

still have to find the best roads to use through northern belgium but it will be a great weekend. i also know alot of the sites where that main battles were fought around the town. watch a bridge too far and you'll get a good insight into what happened to these guys in 44.

£46 return on the ferry.

Calais side... (calculate Uk side costs as we all live in different areas)

It's summer so i'm happy to camp minimal cost. say £10 per night and you can share my tent.

food about £25 per day

drink as much as you want

fuel £75-

tolls - nil

speeding fines me - nil, you prob budget 100 euros

about £200 all in! add £220 for me as i need two new tyres too! :P

from there we are heading down to lake garda via the stelvio pass then across to the balkans for croatia and Bosnia then following the danube up from Sarajevo to Budapest in Hungary and across to Vienna, Then a mad autobahn blast across germany probably to Amsterdam before going home.

BTW I have met that dale guy layne, in fact we had the pleasure of his company for a chinese and a few beers one night. Nice guy if you can wade through his me me me bullshit. We had an amusing evening taking the [wee] out of him.
Hi Jason, maybe we should have a pole to see who hasn’t been to Slider’s?

Dale must have turned to the dark side. When I meet him he was a newbie at MCN.

Been that way years ago for the Baltic Championship – Zagreb , Bratislava - Good times. (Other than the incident with the Russia tanks, army with machineguns and anti-aircraft gun!).
