Well at least its all done now - Thank God

Post by speedy(delboy) »

Have just spent the last 3 days solid humping the bikes and stock back from Par in Cornwall to Barnstaple.

took 4 trips using a 7.5 ton lorry, and to be honest it fekking nearly killed me.

Did one trip wed, from 8am to 8pm
Did two trips thur, from 8am - 4am
Did one trip Fri, 8am - 5pm

Only one major problem, when I got the 1st load back, went to the new unit, only to find no doors and no walls

Had to hire 2 x 20ft containers, 2 x garages, and 2 drive ports to store all the gear until the poxy unit is ready. I rang the guy telling him i ain't happy with it, as just the 2 x 20 ft containers cost I £441 until 1st September with Daintons (robbing barstewards)

Once the unit IS EVENTUALLY available, will get everything in and then take the next 6 - 12 months sorting it.

Hadnt really thought about that to be honest.

although all the stock will be there, it will be in a right mess as it is gonna take me ages to sort the whole lot out.

That maybe the case, but alas, very little is marked or named, but that's prob because he had be doing that type of work for over 20 years and was good at it, however, its new to me and I now have to go through nearly every item and mark/label it all and then catalogue it all as well.

There must be at least half the stock unmarked or unlabelled, and to just look at an item and say what its from is still ni-on impossible for me.

He did say, what I really needed was for him to come up for a week or so, so we could go through it all, but that chances are fairly slim, would be good thou if it did happen.

I know all about bikes, but when just given, say a set of clocks, then having to find which bike they are from could be a pain in the arss, especially when it comes to the plastics, as there are literally 100's of them
