instrument advice

Post by jdcarrielies »

hello people, i'm just sinking my teeth into my first ever rebuild and i'd just like some advice on replacing the instuments if anyone has any ideas; i'd like to put nicer looking instruments on my xj900 as i've removed the fairing and the "black box" though fit for purpose, is ugly and doesnt reall fit in with the design i had in mind. i could put individual gauges on but this would be costly and i'd lose some of the functions offered by the original so my queston is could i just take a better looking unit from another bike and wire it into my bike? if so what would be involved? any advice woul be appreciated, john
