New SWB Theme Installed

Post by Dave »

Finally got round to doing some work on the site today and got a new theme unique to us at SWB.

This is the starting point for more modifications to come.

As you may notice the header images change whenever a new page is loaded, I currently have 28 images which have come from either mine or Mike Daytonas camera.

If anyone has any pics of their bike, or pics from a ride out that they want to see on the top banner. Please email me the pic on dave@southwestbikers.com. (Pics need to be a decent size)

Cheers all

Who did the template? I'll be 'managing' a new forum (for the local IAM group - CVAM) that'll be run on phpBB and a layout something like you've set up here would be good.

it's looking very good dave.
i like the changing pic bar at the top of the page.a nice touch.
the layout looks a lot more classier than the original upgrade.

sorry to be the first to complain, I appreciate you've probably put in a lot of work to get it to where it is today............but........

some of the posts are getting lost amongst the headers and signatures, particularly if the post is only a few words long.

take a look at some of the posts above they are somewhat cluttered.

I hope you take this as its intended - constructive criticism not whingeing

its taken me a while, but I've eventually found the control panel and switched sigs off and I must say it does make a big difference, the posts are much easier to see. :D

can I suggest a couple of new forums that may be usefull?

contact admin - other forums I use have these for requests/questions/suggestions/comments/whinges/praise directly to the admin staff, this is very helpfull because there is a place to post this type of suggestion without it getting lost on the bike banter forum for example.

test - again a forum where people can use to test out their new signature or to practice embeding youtube/photo's and so on, becasue we can't edit our posts its can be frustrating to try to link something that doesn't work. in the test area we can test away to our hearts content untill we know how to do something properly.

Enable word censoring - does this actually work? I've switched it off but it doesn't appear to work, I see no difference in someone typing sh!t and shit, except typing s hit turns into shit. I'm a grown up and dont mind a bit of language.

thanks for your attention

Taff :D

bugger, forgot something.

SWB membership - I've been looking for a sticky or thread that gives us difinitive information on how to join SWB and cant find one. This information should be easily accessible IF you want more of us to send you some cash.

p.s. why cant we edit our posts? this is the only forum I use that doesn't allow it :?
