Would it cause this
After bunging on my new secondhand can started the bike up and she ticked over happily after the usual minute or two of blipping the throttle from cold so she don't stall left it running for twenty minutes then switched off but didnt go for a ride. Last Saturday trying to find the chaps hiding at ASDA in Newton Abbot she was loathe to tick over at all and stalled at every set of lights on the way until a good twenty minutes later when she settled down to a 2ooorpm tickover about 500rpm higher than normal and after a minute or so drops to normal tickover speed, Goes as well as she normally does, before i switch the old pipe back to see if its the new one any ideas from anyone.
Thanks in advance

Re: Would it cause this
i had a similar thing when the can was changed at the dealers with a new ecu map on the triumph.
if yours is similar then the ecu has to reset it's fuelling due to the lambda sensor in the exhaust.
mine ran a bit funny for the first 10-20 mins then settled down and has been okay since.
cvpiper is the man to talk to if u still have problems or want some advice ie. need a new map.
if it's a nice loud can i WILL NOT be very happy about another trumpet rider trying to outdo me in the noise stakes.
i may have to teebag u on bf2 just to prove the point
mind u the triple's do sound good when on song

Re: Would it cause this
I put a micron on my Daytona 600 but was adviced by Total (cos I asked) to not remove the baffle until I had the sports can tune downloaded

Not knowing what bike you have here but if it was a carbed bike then id say you need to richen the pilot mixture.Johnnyb wrote:I have noticed it sounds a bit growlier (if thats a word) but nothing outrageous

Ok then yeah if it doesn't sort itself out your gonna need a new map as the symptoms your describing seem to be indicating a lean mixture at small throttle openings. A baffle in the can also might solve it. But if the can was the only thing you have changed i would be suspicious of it.

sounds like that might be the case, was hoping to give it another run but soooo busy this week with lots of stuff going on, but thanks for the reply m8
Re: Would it cause this
You definitely require the fuel map for that can to be downloaded to your bike. ;)
