Divvy Down, lol

Post by steve-d »

Well not so funny really. On my way to work at about 6.30 roads were slippy was taking it quite easy but apparently not easy enough. Go round a corner at about 40/50mph back end steps out, steer into it, head straight off. Luckily onto a grass verge.
Damage to self- Gravel rash on leg not too bad, Twisted ankle. Suspected chipped/fractured wrist.
Damage to bike- mainly just that gay front fairing. But also indicators, mirrors, speedo and rear break lever.
Been to the hospital got to go back on the 30th.
Worst bit. I need a new helmet, 4 days after buying one :(

Glad you are not to seriously hurt, bikes and gear are easy enough to repair/replace, but not our bodies!!

Unlucky mate. If you have fractured your ankle and can't ride the bike then now's the perfect time to modify it a bit and get rid of the gay fairing.

Really sorry to hear about this. Hope you and the bike mend quickly. I'm crap at mechanics but let me know if you need a hand with anything putting the bike back together.

Cheers guys, n gal :D
Its a bikini fairing and it just looks crap and has no wind protection anyway.
Dad wants me to buy original parts, i fancy doing a half arsed streetfighter :D
Wrist not ankle, Twisted ankle, doctors suspect its either fractured or chipped but they couldnt find anything on the xrays, got to let the swelling go down to get some more done. No concusions or anything. Sore back and neck, and i get 10 days off work paid :)
Might take some pics in a bit. Gonna have a nap.

I know you didn't particularly like the divi m8 but no need to try and kill it just so you don't have to ride it :)

On a serious note, glad to hear your not badly chewed up and hope you get fit soon......

Bad luck mate, though as my uncle told me "You're not a real biker until you have come off". So welcome to the fraternity. All the stuff sounds as though it could be easily fixed via ebay, street fighter it up mate so you don't have to worry about a front fairing.
