Lighting Problem

Post by ZXR400Lee »

Hi there

I seem to have a problem with my headlights, I have a ZXR400L UK Model, in my headlights I have 2 big bulbs and 1 little bulb at the bottom in the middle. At the moment when I switch my normal lights on, only the little on in the middle lights up, when I switch to high beam the two big ones light up. Arent the big ones supposed to be lit up all the time too?

I cant figure it out, I know that the low beam and high beam have separate fuses so checked them and all fuses are ok, and the bulbs are fine...

At the moment I have no headlights, only high beam...

Can someone please help..

Many Thanks

One of the bulbs will have both a normal and a high beam element. Sounds to me like the bulb with the normal beam element has blown. You need to just replace that bulb.

try some candles
you might have had a power surge and blown both dip beam filaments.
The fuses might look ok but try a new one.

Just showing my ignorance :)
I wasn't sure wether the ZXR400 had two twin element bulbs or just one of them had a twin element.
Lucky you were around Age to clear the matter up !!! :)

Well at least it would give you the chance to buy a real bike and not a plastic one  :!:
