I nod to the guys on the peds etc that I know but out and about I wouldn't normally. Do tend to ignore those not wearing the right gear or give a shake of the head as I go past! Other than that anyone on two wheels, get a bit cheesed off when bikers don't nod back, don't see any reason to be ignorant!

IT ALSO DOUBLES AS A WARNING FOR THOOSE FOLLOWING THERES A CERTAIN CAR UP IN FRONT IF YA WITH ME'
THAT IVE SPOTTED N YOUR ABOUT TO...

THERES SOME SCOOTERS AROUND HERE (WHERE I AM) THAT REALLY CHEESE ME OF SO I TEND TO STICK FINGERS UP WHEN THEY LOOK STARE ETC.
ONE CUT DANGEROUSLY THROUGH THE TRAFIC THE OVER DAY N PARKED ALONGSIDE ME SO I SPUN IT UP N SWIPED AT HIM HE WAS GOBSMACKED. HOPEFULLY MAKE HIM THINK ABOUT HIS RIDING A BIT MORE..
I tend to flash my lights and give a thumb down to bikers in the truck and the car if i have passed a obvious hazard on the road, including the bluebottles, so if ya see a big white Scania flashing headlights and pointing a thumb down or a yellow leon for that matter take care ,

That's my point, wave/warn only if there's a problem ahead.
In my experience, alot of biker's don't know what the thumb's down thing is - I've done it before, on the bike & in the car, only to get a totally blank look back - I know it's a 'standard' signal for the lorries.

Probably saved some guys licence a few weeks ago, was in a 30, long straight slight industrial bit. Came up to a roundabout, coming other way towards me, copper then van, car, bike. Bike swings out from roundabout overtakes the car at what sounded and looked like full chat, obviously not seen the police lol so gives him thumbs down big time as he started to pull out round the van. He soon stopped

the thumbs down thing.

So if any of you see a fat bloke on a XBR 500 or a blue 406 estate doing the thumbs down

its for a reason and Iam not being a tw*t. Well not this time anyway :D

Usually side nod to other bikers not scooters unless retro. I do the closed hand and open twice if I see a piggy with speed camera to warn others and flash lights.
