Is the oil pooling on the the top of the bottom end near the tachometer cable? If so, it's probably a clutch cover gasket (I've had 3 DT's all with the exact same problem).

you broke a wire? which one was that?

the oil leak is coming from right hand side casing, just by where the engine mounts to the frame, we had a look but couldnt find the source, there is a part of the gasket that appears torn and is poking out of the casing but when the bike was revved no oil seaped out of it, we suspected it to be the gasket but couldnt be 100% sure as no oil came out while we were watching it. Atleast its one of the cheap gaskets to replace. Does anyone have a front tyre cheap as its looking a bit chewed up, it seems far too knobbly for a road tyre and is worn heavily (almost to the flat) on the centre knobbles.

Should be able to pass the mot, rear brake is a touch of a concern as its not even strong enough to skid but probably either needs bedding in (dunno if its new) or just taking around the block to clear whatevers stopping it from building friction.

I know of a bloke in Bristol who specialises in breaking/repairing DT's and has got literally a Greenhouse full of tyres of all sorts. If you want his contact details then let me know and I'll get back to you.

hehe not touched it today then :) do you have the glass fuses or do i? i still wanna dig that white thing out and put it back in carbs, anyone know what the white plastic bit on the bottom of the pilot jet is for? figured itd might be to act as a straw for the pilot, but forgot to put it back in when we took the carbs apart for a clean, it runs just the same though so...?
