i cant beleive that someones complaining that focused overfilled a day and at silverstone too, there was 88 in the inters group there a few years ago and as the last 10 or 12 bikes of the group was leaving pits the first guys were already back around and thats on the gp circuit

damn thats alot of bikes on circuit.....I would have thought groups would have to be limited to a certain number for insurance reasons?deej wrote:i cant beleive that someones complaining that focused overfilled a day and at silverstone too, there was 88 in the inters group there a few years ago and as the last 10 or 12 bikes of the group was leaving pits the first guys were already back around and thats on the gp circuit![]()

yeah they do but focused dont seem to worry about that when theres money to be paid, i think of the top of my head there was 260 punters there plus all the instructors bikes, was absolutely crazy and packed right out

Re: Silverstone trackday Sun 26th Oct
yeah but the problem comes with one slow guy into those last few corners on the gp circuit,we ended up with about 25 people all bunched up into the esses which then left a massive drag race to the first corner which was very interesting to say the leastBlade wrote:Wasnt complaining about the amount of people at least your never lonely but when your sat on the line it is a lot of bikes and people in front and behind !

i know what you meen deej bloke high sided in front of me going on to start finish straight and crawled across track on hands and knees which resulted in red flag .Also realised why they say about not going into the kitty litter when i came around and saw a guy standing boot deep in it and his zx 10 stood up by itself he didnt look happy!
Re: Silverstone trackday Sun 26th Oct
yeh grass tracking is fine but you really want to keep tour bike out of the gravel traps as it cosmetically destroys everything - any black framed bike looks a mess once its gone down in the gravel even if it only goes down lightly. everything gets scratched to hell.
I kept my bike upright the one time I hit it but it still scratched and chipped my rear wheel very badly. Next time I have made a mental note to get off the bike and push it outa the gravel as opposed to try and ride it out as I think the wheel damage was done with the wheel digging in riding out of the gravel as opposed to the initial flailing into it.

jason isnt the best way to get out of the gravel by riding it slowly in first gear with your feet down either side
blade the gravel seems to be deeper at silverstone than anywhere else, must be to stop those damn formula one things

Re: Silverstone trackday Sun 26th Oct
thats how I tried to get out deej it worked but the wheel sunk in hence the damage I think, I reckon if you jump of and edge it out using the engine with your weight off the bike you could probably save a load of wheel rim damage. just a theory mind I could well be talking shite
