All internal, thank goodness. Whats done is bad enough without the grief of a halo cage on top .....
Thanks Folks

Ouch, sounds nasty Moose, hope you are soon back on your feet.
if you miss the bike too much I know a man in Newton who doe a lot of NABD conversions, sure they could fit it with a chair and a conversion to hand shift - they've done it for othe big old fashioned agricultural twins like Urals in the past so are used to working on stuff like a TL....

Thanks FolksBike tax was due on the 1st, so for the first time in my ownership it's been SORN'd
Still, at least I can get on and do a few things without feeling the need to rush it back together to get it rideable again

Re: Ooops - Stars on Ice ?!!
I can sympathise... When I woke up from my op when they pinned my ankle, I was so out of it, and it hurt so much, I was convinced they had my foot back to front - I remember yelling at the nurses to put it back the right way round. What a muppet..!TLS-Moose wrote:yesterday was a very dark day, to be honest I've never known pain quite like that (and I do have a reasonable pain threshold)but after some alterations yesterday evening and a good nights sleep, I woke up feeling much better this morning

i did see the original x-rays in St Austell, but none subsequently, and didn't have the presence of mind to take a shot of them
On the subject of nurses, I cannot praise the bulk of the staff on Durbin/A&E/theatres/fracture clinic enough. they were always busy, and sometimes understaffed which meant it got a little disorganised, but you could see they were trying and not deliberately ignoring people so made allowances. Pretty much all the young/middle-aged patients in there were pretty good, but I cold not beleive how rude/ungrateful/demanding the majority of the older (post retirement) patients were
Considering it always "the younger generation" that are criticised for a lack of manners these old gits complained about everything from not having papers deliverd to the ward, not having "individual" care, nurses not responding the moment a call button was pressed, etc., and they usually demanded rather than asked and rarely said thank-you. To be honest, they way they were treated I can only compliment the professionalism of the nurses in the way they continued to care for the grumpy old gits

is that durbin ward at RD&E wonford? i had a stay there recently and thought exactly the same, all the nurses were great, and one was hot as hell, which helped immensely
got fracture clinic again on monday for some physio, it's always really busy but keeps ticking along surprisingly well.

When I broke my ankle (what is it about ankles?) I was alright with the pain and the sleep deprived nights it was having to wear that gown back to front that hurt the most. I'm sure they do that to humiliate you on purpose!
When I was coming round I'm told that I was convinced that my head was on back to front (some that that would be a good thing!) because my clothes were tied up at the back. Good stuff that anisthetic.
It makes you humble though being in hospital. How those doctors and nurses do that stuff everyday and keep smiling is beyond me.
