As "one of those concerned" I'd like to say that personally I found some of ChoasCustoms comments rather patronising, rude and unpleasant.

He had a pop at my comment on how my helmet saved me from serious injury in a recent crash, which was totally unneccessary as my comment had been a simple statement of fact and had not been poorly informed or derogatory in any way. I have to say it pissed me off as I have a huge amount of knowledge on helmets having worked with them for the last 11 years and watched them being made and being tested. But, did i throw my toys out of the pram? NO.

I also felt his comment to Funky was completely unnecessary.

His attitude to people with a different opinion from himself reminded me very much of Bathtub, I suspect if he believes something then it becomes fact in his mind, and everyone else must agree.....

I thoroughly enjoy this site but I won't miss him.

jason wrote:the morning ride outs are not sports bikes only....in fact they almost exclude your stereotypical sportsbike riders by riding at posted limits (and starting at a time in the morining when gsxr riders are inevitabley badly hungover  ). They are there for everyone - I dont even go on them and I can see that.

best thing you can do is not tar everyone with the same brush.... I have done the freedom of choice for gear arguement loads of times on this forum, and im a dry weather only sports bike riding nonce :) ...Usually it ends up me and chris_1127 vs the rest of the forum....I cant say I have ever taken offence at people taking a different point of view though. forums always promote retarded arguements....at least it makes interesting\amusing reading.

just to point out jason, the early rides aren't at posted speed limits

the friendly rides are at speed limits and we only do 2 of those a year.

thirdly, your point that only people with gixers are real sportsbike riders made me cry, i think what you meant to say is that people with gixers are all bullies and inevitably pick on others who dont heve them

ah ok I thought the early rides where a captain sensible bimble. I stand corrected. They are still way way to early in the morning for some of us though :) ....and I bet you get a few people with beards, a penchant for real ale and commuter/touring bikes on them....which has to be good in the name of equality...sterling work - striving towards forum unity and harmony :)

i resent the beards and real ale comments Jason - i have both a beard and a penchant for real ales but have never made an early morning ride in my life. in fact I'm probably usually picking bits of real ale or kebab flavoured sick out of my beard at that time on a sunday morning...
