yeah slipperystone gp is good but doesnt compare to donington, oulton or cadwell imo. its quick enough but has always had too many bikes on track for my liking. im sure someone will come along who loves the place though

Re: Silverstone GP circuit 21st March 09
here is a few laps of the gp circuit from my bike cam, from when I had a go at it:

its a hard place to get to grips with first time out I thought - get one corner wrong and it has a habit if messing you up for the next one, I always felt like I was going to slow around it. Impressive place though, worth having a look at - some people love it.
the clerk of the course guy there is a complete flower pot to, his attitude during the briefing was appallling.

Re: Silverstone GP circuit 21st March 09
yeh definately ignore my lines in that vid....its just posted for the purpose of showing the track. Silverstone is a place that would take a few vists to get used to - Its a hard track to get right on first visit I reckon.
Anyway taking the right line is much over stressed - I go on the basis that the wrong line is the right line if it gets you past the bike in front, thats my excuse anyway

Re: Silverstone GP circuit 21st March 09
I rode the GP circuit there last August Bank Holiday - it's very long, too many straights down the bottom end, and it's very flat too, definitely not in the same league as Brands GP, Oulton or Cadwell for the fun factor, but the facilities are good - food and pit garages. Just a bit soul-less if you ask me - I'll have a think about doing this one, it is a Saturday and it's only 50-odd miles from me, but after sliding off twice in one day at a very cold Cadwell in March 3 years ago I promised myself that I'd wait until April and warmer tarmac before venturing out.... We'll see

I was wondering what the general consensus was on a (relatively) safe month to venture back out...Scotty wrote: but after sliding off twice in one day at a very cold Cadwell in March 3 years ago I promised myself that I'd wait until April and warmer tarmac before venturing out.... We'll see
