i do think its stupid!

the courts are just making an example of him. if that was a car the driver would of got a ban and a fine. hundreds of people every day brake the speed limit.

The sentancing in the country is abosoluty crazy. i cant see how you can justify 6 months prison for going over the speed limit

Absolutely crazy - a ban and a big fine, yes - prison, NO

especially when only last week the woman who killed - yes, KILLED - my boss's wife was let off with a 12mth ban and a £2 grand fine  http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article ... iving.html

A chap on the TL site has just had a ban + extended re-test + 120hrs community service for a 10 sec sub-40mph wheelie away from lights on a clear road

So it's now official - killing someone by dangerous/careless driving is less serious than speeding or wheelies  :!:

It's only less serious if you kill someone whilst driving a car evidently, especially a Mercedes...

Where that guy on the Busa went wrong was in riding at those speeds with his kid on the back. If it wasn't for that I say he should be free to risk his own life if he so wishes. The way the cop was talking on TV it was done so as to protect the biker from himself as much as it was to protect his son (i.e. Nanny State laws). In my case I should be allowed to risk braking my neck if I so wish without any plod or judge telling me otherwise.

Yeah, this seems a bit extreme. A fine and ban maybe, I mean look at that guy that was chased for ages by a copper through a built up area doing ridiculous speeds and just got a ban. The only thing I don't agree with is doing it with a pillion, we all take risks with are own life but taking risks with someone elses is a different matter altogether...

And the little old Lady Eileen Baker was cleared of dangerous driving when she was driving without her glasses on, also she has cataracts. She pulled out of a junction and hit a biker killing him instantly. Sentence, 3 year ban and a £500 fine. I can't quite comprehend this................................

There was a awesome debate on radio 2 today at 1300 with is it Steve Parish or something like that the biking journalist about this matter today.

He was going off his head about it with this women who was acussing him and anybody else who took thier child on a bike was iresponsable full stop, no matter what speed you ride at. Funny as f*ck

I seriously can't see how they can justify this punishment.

Its obvious that they are making an example of him to warn others, just shame they don't do that with the dirty PEDO's and MURDERERS and RAPISTS oh no sorry i forgot they got human rights and mental probs so need a little help in society.

Just when you think the law and justice system is too soft and going off the rails they go and hit you with this result.

I just can't get my head around it

Maybe if the little old lady was riding a motorcycle (a.k.a. Hell's Granny! ) then she would've got a stiffer sentence? *Sniff Sniff* Is this motorcycle prejudice I can smell?

I think the sentence is disgusting.

How is anyone supposed to have any respect for the law if violent scum can run riot and do pretty much whatever they like safe in the knowledge that if they do get caught they'll get off lighlty and gain more street cred, and then this bloke ends up getting 6 months of anal widening at her majesties pleasure for not hurting anyone at all.

it sucks

they showed a report on the on th 6 o'clock news on bbc1 tonight about this. they showed the footage of the bike going along the road at 122, fixed position camera with the bike going away from it on the opposite side of the road. reporter commented on the fact he was goig so fast you could see the spray coming off his rear wheel !!!!!!ooooooooooooooo that fast.

then they froze it and zoomed in on the kids hand without gloves - kid probs forgot them who knows

then, to 'simulate' 120 mph they drove along the link road at 60 mph and played the film back at double speed. fair enough u might think, trouble is i think the camera man was having some kind of fit cos he couldnt keep the bloody thing pointing straight down the road - as if the view that the rider had - oh no, he was flicking left, right, up and down so you couldnt see what was going on (probs did the first run and realised that it was quite easy to cope at those speeds)

to add, the judge said at that speed the judge said that if he had come off at that speed the bike would have been a missile and there would definately have been fatalities, fair enough but surely a car at those speeds would cause more damage but only get u a fine and points.............

once again a completly one sided case from start to finish.

I thought that too. My back wheel always picks up water on wet roads even when I'm going at 20 or 30mph! :?

I don't know how much protection gloves would be at 120mph anyway,(especially cheap ones most kids are bought since they'll grow out of them anyway) could be wrong though? :?

Yes it was irresponsible, but a prison sentence for it is ridiculous.

It's a shame the poor [bar steward] aint another colour then at least he would have had more of a chance of claiming some sort of discrimination....this must be one of the most injustices i've heard of in a long time....i aint condoning what the guy did but i do think if we don't do something about it and make ourselves heard on how [Censored] pathetic the law has been used in this case then i think it just opens it up to all sorts of stupid sentencing for bikers...he probably would have been better of doing 122mph on a stolen bike then he would have gotta fuckin slap on the wrist and a lollipop...any respect i had left for law and order as just gone....scales of justice my arse!!!!!!!!!
