Problem with bike valeting is it's not just washing and waxing. If stuff needs painting you have to do that eg fork legs, engines, swinging arms, all those bloody rusty fastenings.

I looked into doing it but the insurance quotes I did get were silly money because it may involve the removal of parts. One quote I did get was over £700 just for public liability (so not covered if you scatch the bike or fail to tighten a bolt properly) where as cars are £125 up. That's why I don't do it, even though I have a ramp, tools and over 6 years experience valeting bikes

Im a self employed plumber doing the usuall domestic plumbing, heating and gas work & my Insurance is just short of £1500!!

I couldn't justify it though cos I didn't think I'd get the return.
