I dont like stating "facts & statistics" but heres one for ya. Troy bayliss didnt start racing until he was twenty three. Not bad for a novice.

Racing is completely different, and is an environment where reckless youth can prevail.DaveMcR1 wrote:I dont like stating "facts & statistics" but heres one for ya. Troy bayliss didnt start racing until he was twenty three. Not bad for a novice.
On the road, a completely different set of rules apply, and weather you like it or not, inexperienced riders, in particular young riders, are more likely to be hurt or killed than more experienced one's.
That's a fact that is backed up by the statistics that were posted here earlier, and is the reason that insurers charge you less for your premiums, as your experience increases.

bullshit, the facts were 23% of youngsters leaving 77% of other people to have accidents. if insurance got cheaper as you got older why has moose's insurance gone up year on year

Nowhere did I say insurance got cheaper as you got older.
I said it get's cheaper as you gain more experience -
If you had two 30 year olds living at the same address, with identical bikes, jobs, annual mileage and lifestyle but one had been riding 10 years, and the other 3, who do you think would be paying less for his insurance.
Bit of a no brainer really

Re: why !!
But the 30 year old that's been riding ten years, will still be younger than the 45 year old that's been riding three, and he'll be paying less insurance for the same bike.deej wrote:there !!!!! obviously the more experienced you get the older you get
Insurers tend to access risk according to experience, more than age.
I don't know if you've noticed, but more and more, insurers are asking how many continuous years riding you can show.
Over the last two years I've been with Bennetts and Carol Nash and they've both asked me.
