Post by parnsi »

Arrive in Roscoff early Monday Morning, catch the ferry back to Plymouth Friday late afternoon. Anyone got a cracking route where I might meet other bikers?

Mont st. Michel, Dinan, and St Malo are all nice. The centre and southern coast of Brittany is nice. You could drop down to Le Mans and go around the road circuit, or Angers/Saumur and the Loire valley are pleasant. La Rochelle is a nice weekend destination, but the roads south of Nantes can be a bit boring .... if thats a bit far St Jean de Monts is a typical beach resort ....
If you're feeling braver, head down towards Clermont Ferrand, le Puy en Valey, Mende, etc., .....
Why not PM Nomad on here - his B&B is doable in the time you have available ......

Either way, enjoy yourself you lucky fellow

At this time of year, why camp? Hotels and B&B's are both plentiful and cheap enough ...... A "formule 1" hotel is about £20 per night for up to three people, an "Etap" slightly better for a few quid more, and "chambre d'hote" (B&B's) can vary between £15 and £50+ per night.

Many of the larger towns have a "Camping Municipal" which though they tend to be a bit more basic in the North, are generally pretty cheap.

I'll try and find the link for a site detailing cheap hotel chains and B&B's when I get home.

If you're thinking of going that far though, like I said, PM Nomad and he'll be able to give better info on riding times to his place and availability, and no doubt places to stop
