What next bike for me?

Post by Princess »

Well times have changed....

and was wondering what bike to get next....

Was going to go for a street fightered R1/gixxer thou sports bike to wheely every where but I want corners and wind protection...

So say if you had a choice of a new R1, 1198S(no point in getting a 1098S again) or gixxer thou? Which would you go for and why?

Plan is to get a camper van....fit 2 bikes in the back so when I have time off, a mate and I go off travelling for a week.

i know i have a n r1 but would have to say go for the gixxer, looks better but make sure you only have 1 can, the whole twin can thing spoils it for me.

I wouldnt go for the R1 or the 1198, i'd get the Fireblade.

I know that the R1 is supposedly the best bike of the two, but it's not really a bike suited to travelling over a weekend or anything is it

I had a sit on both the R1 and the 'blade at this years MCN bike show and the 'blade was so much better. i could have sat on it all day in comfort i think. Plus there's only a gnats bol lock of difference between the two performance wise on the track, and i think the Fireblade is still the king of the road according to the bike journos. :D

Not sure if this helps but a mate of mine has a 57 plate gixxer thou, with a single can, a few carbon goodies and best of all a two tooth bigger rear sprocket, its a wheelie tool  Its all in black with 2000 miles, its for sale for 6k.

Its a cracking bike to ride, and so much fun on the back wheel.

Personaly i would go for the gixxer every time

The fireblade sucks for the road, I test rode one a few months ago and they are DULL....

I've ridden virtually every bike, cept the new r1 or the 1198...which will be the same as my old 1098S with abit more grunt.....

A gixxer is very tempting and is very lively....

Hmmm.

I was out yesterday and heard a bike approach - sounded like an Aprilia or KTM with nice pipes approaching ........ then a new R1 came round the corner  Wow, they sound awesome 8) A decent set of cans and it'd sound unreal :P I quite like the look of the white paint/red anodised frame too

As you seem to like twins, what about a Superduke R or an RC8 :?

Yeh, drop the lower fairing off (if you're desperate for wind protection leave the top), extend the arm a bit, stick a go away blower on it, thatl be lovely
