Wilts/Dorset ride out

This is a ride out , I'm running with the SV1000 portal, every one welcome, Saturday 30th of may. I am going to try and attach the route (NOW BELOW) but at the moment can,t see how too, but if I fail PM me and ill send it .

Wilts Dorset SV Forum Ride out 2009

Welcome to the 2009 wilts Dorset sv forum ride out, this is open to all and subject to all the normal forum guide lines and min donation of £2.50 to the forum to be paid on the day, please try to have correct change, This year we have two dates first 30th of May then the 8th of august .

The ride out will start from nunny catch truck stop near Frome Somerset,, BA11 4NZ the truck café is open from 07.30 on a Saturday if anyone needs breakfast before kick off at 09.30 there is a 24hr petrol station with in 100m of the truck stop.

Total route mileage aprox 150 miles.

Can everyone be there for 9am so we can get organised before kick off at 09.30.

The route mainly wilts Dorset and a bit of Somerset, The intended route is as follows,

The first section is aprox 65 miles.

Frome to mere B3092 this is a great road fast and flowing with a couple of short 30s

Mere to just past Chadderwick Hill on the A303 (bear right just before services, there is slip road)

Chadderwick Hill to barford st martin B3089 again fast and undulating few 30s

Barford st Martin to Shaftesbury A30 fast in places with some great scenery, Just before Ludwell turn left onto Dennis Lane follow through and turn left onto B3081 this is a corker and the views but eyes front its fast, keep on B3081 to verwood BH316AX.

Tea break at crescent Suzuki and a good mooch at the bsb bikes and work shop. At this point it’s of to Poole Quays for lunch aprox 22 miles Via:

Verwood to West moors on the B3072 follow to A31 and follow to Oakley, Take first exit left at Marley roundabout onto A341 and follow onto A349 gravel hill, follow A349 all way down to A350 Poole then follow signs for Quays, BH151HJ..

Next section aprox 30 miles

Poole to blandford A350 fairly quick but busy road, speed cameras in the 30s, eyes peeled, follow A350 blandford bypass turn right on to Higher Shaftesbury road, follow onto spreadeagle road and SP5 5AP Compton Abbas air field for a cuppa.

Compton Abbas to Sherborne Aprox 18 miles:

Follow spreadeagle road to melbury abbas turn right into Dinas Hollow and follow to A3081 and Shaftesbury, from there follow A30 to sherborne.

Sherborne to Nunny Catch Aprox 25 miles:

Sherborne to lattiford B3145 this is a bucking bronco ride, surface poor but in places medium fast.

Lattiford to castle cary A371 short stint but it twists and turns, fun road.

Castle cary to nunny catch A359 Last but not least ,it’s a blast great bends and country side ,just watch it when It gets to nunney as the roundabout comes up real fast.
