You are of course welcome along to any Southwestbikers rideout, however your bike must be in good mechanical order (we don’t want anything falling off of it including you), taxed and have a current MOT. You must have a valid motorcycle licence and current motor insurance. You are in charge of your motorcycle at all times and SWB will not accept any responsibility for actions you take or any accidents you may have. Always ride within your own capabilities and do not put others at risk. Remember, while you are on a Southwestbikers rideout you are representing the site and what it stands for.
Thank-you.

Don't forget......ANYONE can organise and run a rideout.

Just an idea...an evaluative rideout ?

Post by Varcon »

Ok, so i have pretty much learnt everything i know about how to ride from watching other people, and taking hints and tips from other people, and i have found it a really great way to improve my riding.

So would anyone be interested in having a ride out where the aim was to watch each others riding, and give each other hints and tips ? It can be as something as small as road positioning being wrong, to how your tipping the bike into corner, when braking, anything really.

Obviously anyone who went would have to be prepared to take criticism of their riding and be willing to listen to others !

I suppose that rather depends on what style of riding you want to learn. Some want to learn how to be as fast as possible (knee down, apexing etc), others want to make progress with safety (IAM style, best forward view etc). The two aren't always compatible.

Yes i guess you raise a very good point there, i guess that would have to be decided on before hand!

good thinking mike, i still have his numbers round here somewhere, maybe we could call on him in a purely 'consultational' position ?

maybe his battery is flat tho, hmmmmmmmm, we could always go bang on his door tho. :D

i want to learn how to ride like a REAL biker and stop pretending :D

Well if anyone want to learn to KD (knee down) i'll show ya, having showed a fair few peeps now, becoming a habbit, like my signature belows says

"My knee is stuck to the Ground"

Was also RoSPa Observer for 5 years and also a Motorcycle Instructor for 6 years, so if you want to know about that side can show you that as well.

If its just pure speed you want you will best go with Colin or Dave or Mr Blobby.
