Bandit 600

Post by mykee »

Looking at buying a Bandit 600 (not 650) and want to know if anyone has one or has had one, and what are the good bits :D and more importantly, the bad bits :(

Indestructable, will go on forever. Will do everything you ask of it

Underpowered, exhaust rot

Buy a 1200, not much more money (paid £1100 for mine) and insurance not much more expensive. Or buy a GSXR 750 engine of me and fit it 8)

Hi i have got a gsf600f had it about 8 mths its a great bike as reported before does all that you ask of it
a couple of minor things is the 600 lack the grunt when 2 up but as i ride mostly solo not a problem and when looking
to buy one look for one that has had a after market exhaust change as the original will be ready to be changed and they can a bit expensive,
neadless to say i am very pleased with mine as a good all rounder, just choose well
good luck

I had one. Excellent bike and does everything you want a bike to do. Cheese Monkeys suggestion of getting a 1200 is a good one... you will quickly find that the 600 feels slow and revs so high on dual carriageway its annoying!

Well, the revs arent particularly high, but its a 600 and it just feels buzzy and annoying sat at 6k :?

1200 is still scaring the shit out of me 8)

Well, after your comments, I've been out and done the deal so next week i pick up my new bike - a 2003 fazer 600 :P
Took a bandit out for a test ride, liked it, then spotted the Fazer took it out and loved it, better power, handling and looks. Role on next Wednesday when I pick her up :D
