You need to spend more time with your family....not tw*ting around on your bike!!!!. get your priorities right. Burger sounds good for bfast though.

I figured you'd all be dying to here how I'm getting along. My backs getting better, and tooth aches no worse, so my body can do it, but now the bikes having second thoughts. I thought I'd go out and start it this afternoon just to make sure it's OK, and nothing. So I whipped out the air filter, sprayed in some Easy Start still nothing. Checked the fuel tank and crank case breather pipes, clear. Took out one of my 2 spark plugs, gave it a clean, checked it for spark and there was plenty. Put the plug back squirted in some more Easy Start and it just fired up. Interestingly a lot of throttle while it was firing would kill the engine. Anyway ran it for 5 mins in the garage then took it for a spin round the block and it ran fine. I guessing it's stale fuel as I don't think I've refuelled since October, might be a combination of things, slightly dirty spark plugs, slight waxing up of the carbs after months of being idle. It's also done 28,000 miles so due for valve clearance adjusting, and carb balancing. (I don't suppose anyone has a balancing kit?) Anyway I plan to be there in the morning if the bike will start, if I can use up the stale fuel, and put in some fresh I'm hoping that will fix it. My mobile numbers below if you wanted to add it to your phone, and then if you don't see me and wondering whether I've managed to get the thing started, you could give me a text/call?

Actually I'm with Autoaid http://www.autoaidbreakdown.co.uk £37 for recovery to your home address from anywhere in the UK, only downside is you have to pay to be recovered and then claim for a refund. Covers driver not vehicle so covers me on the bike and in the car.

Well it was a good rideout before i peeled off back for home. Took the route home back over the moors. Just going down through the woods to Steps bridge and hit a patch of black ice at about 20. Back end stepped out then regained grip but was too late, front wheel just went off the road into the gutter, front end digged in and i got flipped right over the handle bars. bike did a barrel roll and ended up on its side in the middle of the road. The exhaust has no snapped right off at the manifold, bars are bent, clutch lever snapped clean off, all the lhs is behone repair, panels snapped, radihator leaking, ahhhhhh bollocks! But im absoulutly fine except movement in my left hand is a bit restricted

That is terrible, I am gutted for you...I know you had the exhaust problem on the way to plymouth and decided not to chance it any further. Are you insured??? can you claim. Post your email and I'll paypal you a tenner, I know its not much but it'll buy a lever.
Andy (Payner) and I came over the moors on the way back but it was about 2ish, so no ice. There was a *hit load of gravel everywhere and the bikes were sliding so badly, that Andy thought he had a blowout.

All in all a great day. Thanks to the lads from Plymouth....... all top guys especially Cheese Monkey for setting the plymouth to callington pace.

Fairly uneventful on the way back, just the usual Andy (Sixth Gear) wringing the neck of the old Honda, will have to check for the Nitro bottle next time.

Sorry to here about your nasty spill Delvey, you may not see it now, but the important thing really is that you weren’t seriously injured, how did you get the bike home? I passed Steps Bridge at about 4.30 riding in a recovery vehicle. You weren't the only one to get into trouble, although it sounds like your bike came of worse than mine.
I was following Payner n Redlight across the moors, we got to Merrivale by The Dartmoor Inn, when my side stand grounded out on the uneven road, broke the engine kill switch and cut out my engine. I waved to Payner and Redlight but they were going like inmates out of Princetown, and so I coasted to a stop, then ran the bike back down the hill to a small car park. I had a look at the switch but couldn't get it off with my bike toolkit, so phoned AutoAid, who sent a recovery vehicle courtesy of Keltek Motors from Callington. Luckily for me because my bike had trouble starting the day before I didn't have much faith in it, and took both mobile phones as Vodaphone had no signal, and my old T-Mobile just a couple of bars. Recovery arrived after I'd had an hour of huddling behind a granite rock to try and get out of the cold wind. Paul came past on his Beemer while the recovery vehicle was loading up my bike, and stopped to make sure I was OK. I've got a .jpg picture of my bike on the back of the recovery truck, but I don't know how to upload it, can anyone help:?: Thanks Redlight for organising a cold but eventful day, hopefully it’s helped clear out my bike blocked passages after the long winter, I might buy some Redex, and a new fuel tank filter.

Well, I actually got up this morning, thought it looked like a great day, and went down to Maccy D's for a nice ride ..... but got waylaid at the fuel station and got there about 9.35 ..... you guys must have been pretty smart leaving

Having said that, my hands were pretty darned cold after that short rip, so I just scuttled back home and meddled in the garage for a while

Seb, wondered where you got to , set a more sedate pace on the return leg, from Holsworthy at least, waited for a good time, guess you must of gone Launceston way, good road that one tho . Paul appeared at a really random time, he sped off at some point, then ages later just had some bike catch me up in the mirror, and that makes me paranoid as [censored] lol, slowed right down until I recognised the lid and those funky lights

Yeh I am insured but only tpo so no chance of any claims!. Got dad to come out with the trailer to get me and the bike home, which he wasnt too happy about ruining his sunday lunch Lol and no i dont think i will be bothering with changing the wheel colour, its gonna cost a bit to get fixed
