unfortunately my bike has now developed fuel leak through the smallest possible hole on the underside of the fuel tank.
hole isnt on any seems just on a flat bit of metal.... there is a little bit of rust on the outside around the hole so there probs is some rust on the inside.
found out that a new fuel tank is £490 !!!
someone mentioned getting it welded on the outside and get the inside coated with something called 'pet paste' or something like that.
anyone know anyone who specialises with fuel tanks in torbay ?
leaking fuel tank any repair ideas ?

DO NOT ON ANY ACCOUNT USE PETSEAL. i have learnt to my expense used it 3 times evrytime it came off and gave even more aggro, i had to use this http://www.tankcareproducts.co.uk/ you could use the rust remover and sealer from that, or this from frost http://www.frost.co.uk/item_Detail.asp? ... pair%20Kit but it is out of stock,

are these all permanent repairs or temporary fixes ? do u think its best to get it welded on the outside or will this be good on its own ?

Well you could weld it but it is not the easiest job to do on a tank, also if you weld it it will need painting, and if it is rusting inside it will carry on rusting, this stuff if you use it right should be a permanent job and stop the rust, another option is too look for a secondhand tank, or even a new old stock one ,on ebay, but beware as a secondhand one maybe the same as yours
