Llandow noise limits

Post by gnarly »

Hi all,
A question for all those of you who have been to Llandow before, how strict are they on noise limits?
The circuit website quotes a 105db limit, is this tested/enforced, should I stick the standard pipework back on my bike?
With a cheapy Maplins db meter my Firestorm was reading 110db at tickover!
Thanks in advance for any information provided.

It's not an enforced limit with testing, it's just so people dont go on with stupidly loud slash cuts and annoy the locals, therefore have to enforce a limit/risk closure. If it was tested, the 105DB limit would be 2 foot away at a 45 degree angle, so retest your bike this way.

It also depends on capacity and number of cylinders to set the rpm the test should be done at, unless the circuit has its own slant on testing like Combe.

Oh yeah forgot to mention that. 1000cc V-Twin is 5,000RPM I believe.

Although my bike is naturally quite quiet, being a 1000cc V-Twin, I have never had a problem with noise at Llandow, and to be honest short of running slash-cut's I'm yet to find a super-chicken that creates a deeper note than a TL :D

They've never tested any of us in years past at Llandow.
