bike alarms

hey
about 3 weeks ago tonite 3 boys were outside my house with bolts cutters at half 12
my neighbours chased them off but they got away
i think they were cuming for my bike
one with ginger hu ran abit werid
and the other 2 was chubby
thts what my neighbour told me

so ive been lookin for alarms to put on my urban dz 125 trials bike

dont want nothing expensive tho as havent got that sort of money
they sell chinese ones cheap on ebay but ive been told they run down the battery

any1 no of any alarms

I had an Acumen alarm on my old bike. It didnt reduce your insurance and had no immobiliser, but did go mental if you moved the bike etc. Upside was they were only £70 and could be easily fitted by yourself (just plugs into your battery)

and my bike is a four stroke n and wanna get sum dif indicators ,are all indcaters the same fittings or do i have to buy ones for the bike

Most aftermarket 'universal' indicators are a single nut and bolt. Most original indicators have a similar-ish setup so universal ones will fit on it its place. Alternatively you can get flush mount ones that simply stick on. Have a search on eBay and see what take your fancy.

Some bikes leave big holes once removed but you can get 'indicator spacers' to fill the holes and accept the universal indicators. Search eBay for them.

After that its just a case of wiring them up, two wires. May have to cut off the original connector depending on what connection they have originally.

my advice......don't bother with an alarm

I fitted an acumen cat 3 with imobiliser nearly 5 years ago, about £80ish I think, and it's been excellent, very load, the tilt sensor isn't too sensitive, it's just right. It will run the battery down after a couple weeks of no bike use though, so I bought a trickle charger as well.

If you are padlocking your bike to someting, why not get one of those padlock which has a sounder alarm built in.
Have seen them around not sure how much they are.

Maplin sell one for £20 wires straight on to your battery.

I don't need one myself, since you ask, as I don't have a bike. (Having had three stolen, gave it up as a bad job).
