Ineresting to see teh wide range in prices charged by the insurance companies. Personelly I am currently using Carol Nash at the moment, they were the only company prepared to give a realistic quote for 4 bikes. Fully com for £85 each that 2 zx6r's and 2 z50j's

That's good for you. but for those who still have high insurance and would then have to pay again for breakdown cover it is a good buy, you can't help it if you are getting to that age when most things go down. (in price ie. insurance)
Dont spoil it!!! These has to be some advantage to getting old........I hope....... :?

carole nash is good i was paying £130 TPF&T for my old Gilera 125 but the only problem is i have been waiting 6 to 7 weeks now for a pay out cos of 3 compenys involed in it and when i asked about a quote for the rg 125 it jumped from £130 to £390.

so i started looking around and QuickQuote started of giving me a quote of £108 TPF&T but the full quote was £190.

so i finlly come across revolution who have quoted me £145

i am now trying bike team to see if their can do better

I used Carol Nash this year, FULLY COMP for 2 bikes, GSX-R and CB400 was £315, and the only reason it was this high, is because the 400 is a Grey Import.

I was happy.

Bloody Carol Nash !!! i have just found out my insurance policy that i have paid in full for the year in invalid because they have me down and having a full licence and having never done me CBT, they wont give me a refund. Even thought i mentioned several times at the time that i only had a CBT cert and gave her the details and date etc. Worst of all andy has been riding the 400 for 4 months and its not legally insured. They will give me a pro-rata rebate saying it has been imsured since Sept 2004 - but if andy had had an accident they would have said the policy was invalid because of the incorrect details.

They say i should have fully checked the details- which having never had any vechile insurance, thought i had.

Wrote very angry letter demanding full refund but dont expect it to work.

Welcome to the world of motorbikes i guess

Right Guys,
a bit boring I know but, to quote some legalise... "A contract of insurance is a contract uberrimae fidei: it is not just a matter of ordinary commercial good faith but one of the utmost good faith"... which means that the contract goes to the intent of the parties... if you said everything you knew and and mean't all you said then the insurance company would have a hard time getting out of it! On the flip side if you had hidden anything at all>>>>>!
Again to quote "It is thus just as serious a breach of the principle for an insurer to convey news of a significant diminution of cover in an obscure note of the back of the renewal notice as it is for an insured to fail to tell an insurer that there has been a significant change in the risk"
So.... CHILL, tell the truth and shame the devil as my dear old mum still says... ... .... more often than she is asked!!

... oh and I forgot to say... " no liability for opinions given in good faith will be accepted unless preceded by a written contact signed by both parties expressing the full intentions and considerations to be part of said agreement"..... !!!!!!!

Just to add my two penneth, Insurance companies are great until you make a claim. Then you find out to your cost just what you are paying for. Secondly you age will always be a factor so I am lucky that as I become older and wiser my premiums are reducing. Lastly the bike makes a hell of a difference. I sold my R6 and bought the Sprint RS. My premium reduced by £200  The RS is no race bike but certainly no slouch and indeed a litre bike. The more racy and exotic you go (Age - Ducati) the more the premium increases.

I am being robbed blind for my insurance, but not a lot i can do about it. It was the same on the cars i had, when i got upto group 17 imports I was seriously stung.

Typically though, all my premiums are due in january, and a week after i sorted them both i found a company that would insure the car/bike on one policy :(

You live and learn hey!
