33bhp restriction finished?..

Post by Milky »

quick question - when your 2 years are up, do the DVLA automatically send you your new driving licence or do you have to send the old one back to them or anything? ..and am I right in saying that you have 12 points to play with instead of 6 when you are no longer on a restricted licence? Cheers, Tom.

I would guess you will need to send your licence back if it makes any reference to the restriction, but as I've never had a restricted one, I honestly don't know .......

I think you are right, you now get the full 12pts to play with

Why would you want to know about car insurance, saddo! but yes, some will allow bike NCB to be transferred to car policies, but remember you can only use the NCB once - if you swap the NCB to a car policy, you will have to build the bike NCB up again........
Of all the things I have ever lost, I miss my mind the most .....

just be careful when you send your licence to the DVLA, they appear to have a habit of removing entitlements ans such testicles. The advice is to request they return your old licence to you (you might have to include SAE) and photocopy your old licence before you send it off.

But then you probably knew that already

Give DVLA a ring as they make their own rules up on daily basis

My other half rode a bike for three years with no licence even though a CBT test centre and a Test Centre had bothed viewed the licence

Never assume nowt with the DVLA

Peter

ps

After a lot of complaints from MAG and the BMF your licence is now returned with a hole through it but I do believe you need to send an SAE

the DVLA also accept photocopies of your license as proof of entitlement, so make sure you copy it before you send it up

They don't send it automatically. My restriction ended last january.
When I passed my car test they changed it to a full one.

you dont need to send it back as it automatically matures after the two years are up

if your worried about the points issue and the low intelligence levels of our local police then send it back and upgrade it just to save any hassle
