Bloody typical ... struck down ill 3 weeks before the run so no training at all just when I needed to be putting the distances in ...
Felt ok, so turned up on the day hoping for the best ...
I had been training to finish in a time of around 1hr 40mins, but quickly realised there was no chance of that happening.
Hit the 'Wall' at the 9 mile mark (the furthest I had trained to) and really struggled thereafter.
Decided to 'Limp' on and managed to run the whole way finishing in 1.53:18 ...
On finishing some geezer handed me a piece of paper asking 'want one of these mate?' (entry form for the Torquay run in a few weeks) I politely answered 'want a smack on the jaw ... mate?'
